Integrating Neuro-Acupuncture, Electroacupuncture, and Evidence – based Rehabilitation Techniques
Introduction
The prevalence of stroke and brain injuries continues to increase each year.
There often are long-lasting sequelde from these injuries, including physical, cognitive, language, and behavioral deficits. The focus of this course is to provide clinicians with a “hands-on” experience, including acute bedside rehabilitation, efficient and effective body mechanics, spasticity assessment and treatment, disorders of consciousness, behavior management, perceptual deficits, cognitive impairments, medical complications after stroke/brain injury, and more.
This course will emphasize an integrative treatment approach for stroke and brain injury by combining the effective methods of neuro-acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and evidence-based rehabilitation. By integrating the techniques covered in this course, clinicians will be more confident and efficient practitioners.
The material will be presented via an interactive didactic course format. In addition, discussion and active participation in case presentations/ patient demonstrations related to clinical practice will engage the audience. You will gain an increased appreciation and confidence in effective treatment that can help your clients’ recovery of function.
This course is directly related to the practice of medical neurology, acupuncture, and selective healthcare professionals who directly work with stroke or brain injury patients.

A New Frontier in Healing: Integrating Neuro-Acupuncture and Evidence-Based Rehab
Hello there!
I’m Dr. James C. Lu, and Id love to share my journey with you. For the past 28 years,
I’ve dedicated my career to mastering acupuncture and physical medicine, with a special focus on treating orthopedic injuries and helping stroke survivors recover faster and better.
I’ve been blessed with a unique understanding of the human body’s incredible capacity to heal. As someone licensed in both Acupuncture and Physical Therapy, I’m thrilled to offer you a comprehensive approach to healing.
My educational journey has been exciting – I hold a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and a Master’s of Science from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I’m also proud to be certified as an Orthopedic Specialist by the Board of Physical Therapy Specialty, with advanced training in Neurodevelopment treatment (NDT).
From 2006 to 2020, I had the incredible opportunity to study under two renowned masters: Dr. Shi, Xue-Min, creator of the stroke acupuncture technique Xing Nao Kai Qiao (XNKQ), and Dr. Zhu, Ming-Qing, known for “Zhu’s Scalp Acupuncture.” Dr.
Zhu, in particular, opened my eyes to the wonders of scalp acupuncture and gave me the chance to work and teach alongside him globally since 2010.
Through successful collaboration, we were able to significantly expand our reach.
We tripled the number of patient visits and conducted over 20 professional seminars worldwide, including the United States, China, Malaysia, Australia, and multiple European countries.
Throughout my career, I’ve discovered something amazing – acupuncture can provide immediate pain relief and neurological improvements! When combined with physical medicine, the effects are even more profound, leading to maximum recovery potential in less time and with minimal discomfort.
