Motor Point Acupuncture Core Essentials & Shoulder

Richard Hazel uses a unique style of acupuncture that relies heavily on knowledge of neurology and sports medicine. He was one of very few people to learn Motor Point Acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York where he completed his Master of Science in Acupuncture, Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. We are lucky to have him in our  seminar from 10th August – 13th August 2024 in Bangkok for the first time in Thailand this year!

Richard has also studied different acupuncture styles from some of the best acupuncturists in North America and spent years learning about trigger points and the treatment of myofascial pain from the works of Dr. Janet Travell and Dr. C Chan Gunn.

BONUS : RICHARD’s IASTM , Dry Needling for Trigger Points , Nerve Entrapments technique

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a technique used to release connective tissue.

Because If muscles can’t move past each other smoothly because the fascia is stuck it will keep you from using the full length of the muscle increasing the risk of injury while decreasing range of motion and optimal performance.

Richard Hazel’s IASTM is much softer than Gua Sha (painless) as it does not address the same tissues and is specifically designed for acupuncturists.

“If you’re now a motor point wizard and getting great results or if you’ve never used motor points IASTM will take your treatments to the next level. I’ll show the high fascia areas where you’ll get the best results with only a few minutes of IASTM”, Richard Hazel.

About the speaker

Richard Hazel received his Master of Science in Acupuncture – Orthopedic & Sports Medicine at Pacific College in New York. The program focused on the location and treatment of motor points for the treatment pain and improved neuromuscular function. Richard has also studied Neurofunctional Electric Stimulation Acupuncture under Dan Wunderlich, L.Ac  and the theories and methods of Dr. C C Gunn and Dr. Janet Travell. Richard’s private practice in NY focuses on treating chronic pains and injuries and improving performance by assessing muscle imbalances and decreased range of motion. He gets excellent results with only a few treatments necessary by keeping the focus on restoring the function of the limbs, joints or spinal segments, instead of attempting to merely treat local pain.
